Garnet scratches at Pearl's scalp the more she talks herself down. Eventually, once Pearl lets it all out, Garnet will remind Pearl of all the things that are great about her. But then something seems to shift and Garnet feels like she was left out of something important.

And then Pearl says that and Garnet's fingers stop mid stroke. She had honestly forgotten about that conversation until now. In their relationship, Pearl has asked her to do many things, and Garnet has always gone along with it. This one didn't seem too far away from that, but somehow, it feels like such a shift right now. She was getting ready to comfort and love, and now wrapping her mind around the opposite seems counter to herself.

She hesitates just slightly, and then her hand scratches lightly on Pearl's hair. Her mouth feels dry and she swallows. Her voice comes out calmer, "You want me to punish you for your bad day?"

When Garnet's hand stills with that unreadable look on her face, Pearl feels her chest bottom out into her stomach. It's impossible to tell what she's thinking sometimes -- especially at times like this, on utterly uncharted territory. They'd spoken about it, briefly, and Garnet had agreed, but last week it was still within the theoretical realm -- just a curious little idea that, oh, might be interesting to try at some point down the line.

This is different.

"W-well, now you're making me sound awfully silly," Pearl says with a too-wide, slanted smile, her gaze immediately escaping downwards. Her face feels like it's on fire. "I'm sorry, it was just a thought, we don't have to..."

"No, no, don't be sorry." Garnet responds without thinking. It's her natural reaction when she feels anything she's done has made Pearl uncomfortable. She shakes her shoulders slightly, similar to the way she does when she's in the ring and her mind isn't focused. It's a way to bring herself back to what's in front of her.

She squares her shoulders then, clearing her throat. "I can do it." But there's still a pause. She's not quite sure what it is she needs to do. She keeps her voice as level as she can. "Should I... get anything for it?"

Oh. Pearl's lips part around a soft sigh, and her features flood with relief upon the realization she hasn't been turned down -- only for them to redden threefold at the question that follows. Awash by a surge of self-consciousness, Pearl untucks herself from around Garnet's knees, straightening into a sitting position. She laces her hands tightly together in her lap, only the forefingers circling and pushing at each other -- she keeps her stare fixed on their endless little dance, not daring to look at Garnet's face.

"I-if you want, that is, sure. I mean, we have... things, right? Like the handcuffs, or the, the paddle," she stumbles through her answer, voice shrinking with every word until it fades into inaudibility. But Pearl yanks her wilted back upright once more, forcing a smile that she can only hope looks reassuring-- "But anything you'd like is fine, really! I'm in no place to be making demands, am I?"

Garnet nods along, listening carefully to Pearl's suggestions. Really she figured, and they'd talked about it to some extent before, but hearing Pearl spell out what she wants right now, it gives her better ideas on how to carry this out. She would do anything Pearl asked, especially if it's something that would help Pearl.

"Okay," she says softly, almost a whisper, and her shoulders straighten, as she's shifting into the mindset. She glances at Pearl, and almost leans in to kiss her, for strength, but then stops. Would that be too much of a reward? Counter to what Pearl is asking her? But Garnet feels like she needs it, just to get her started. To feel grounded.

But this is for Pearl. She needs to make sure. "Can I kiss you first?"

Pearl's shoulders twitch with a hitched, flustered laughter, and she angles her chin up by an inch. Her hands loosen and part, to secure a loose lock of hair behind her ear.

That certainly can't be called punishment, much less with the fluttery feeling it sets off in her chest, but... it's not as though she could ever refuse her.

"Of course you can, Garnet. You don't need to ask that."

"I know," Garnet responds, the second word half lost as she doesn't wait to press her lips to Pearl's. She pulls at her lips, feeling the softness of Pearl's, a little cold from her having just come home. Pearl's scent surrounds her a little, when Pearl breathes out, and it feels grounding and real. Pearl is tired and stressed, worried and sad, and she wants Garnet to help her. Garnet will do everything she can for Pearl.

Garnet breaks the kiss slowly, pulling at Pearl's bottom lip as she parts, biting just slightly as Pearl's lip leaves hers. She opens her eyes to look at her, serious and determined. "You've been really falling behind lately, Pearl." She sets her jaw, clenches it. "I'm disappointed."

Kissing Garnet is familiar and easy, and Pearl can't help but feel herself soften into her hold, just slightly.

Familiar, but it's not the same -- the little hairs at her nape are standing on end, and static's running through the joints of her fingers. And with the pull and sting at her lip as they part, Pearl can pinpoint the exact moment Garnet's sweetness grows fangs.

The look in her eyes alone is enough to make her heart stop.

"Ah."

Garnet's presence sucks all the air from the room in an instant, and that sudden yet effortless switch twists up her muscles like a wind-up toy. Pearl's back snaps into a rigid straight line, a soldier called to attention, hands balled into fists at her lap.

So much for her concerns about immersion.

"You're right," she answers weakly, guilt tightening her throat. There is a cold, sharp weight in her abdomen, and yet her skin is buzzing, nails digging into her palm. "I'm-- I'm sorry."

She feels Pearl's shift in response to her own, and she has to clench her hands to keep herself from reaching out and holding Pearl and telling her everything's alright. Pearl doesn't need that right now, she doesn't want to be coddled.

"Sorry isn't good enough," her tone is even and firm, without harshness or anger. She wants to keep it even for now. Her body feel a little stiff, but she rolls her shoulders again, keeps her back straight. She needs authority. She sits back a bit, feet on the floor, making more space on her lap.

"You need to learn the consequences," and she motions to it, for Pearl to position herself over it.

"Yes, of course," Pearl hurriedly responds, chin tipping down as her shoulders hitch up. Yet despite everything in her posture radiating subservience, when faced with the gesture, Pearl doesn't move.

Between the crinkled brow and doe-eyed stare, it's not hard to guess why. Pearl bites her lower lip, feeling the heat in her cheeks flare.

"W-what, um, am I supposed to do?"

Pearl's hesitance makes Garnet waver for just a moment, only indicated by her lips pursing and her taking a moment to swallow. Is she doing it wrong? Or did she choose the wrong thing to start with? She doesn't want to break character though, so she clears her throat, trying to make it sound more like she's bothered that Pearl didn't follow instructions right away.

"Lay across my lap, on your stomach." She motions with one hand at her lap, then raises the other, her right hand, in a gesture that shows what she means. And in case it doesn't, "I'm going to spank you as punishment."

"Oh," Pearl squeaks, her heart caught in an upwards whirlpool that nearly lodges it inside her throat. She lets out a high-pitched, stammered laugh, and her eyes dart wildly between Garnet's face and lap. "Yes, aha, I could've guessed that, couldn't I?"

And, okay, she really needs to shut up now. Her nervous babbling has never done any good, and in this particular scenario it might be even worse. "Sorry," she mumbles, before swallowing hard enough to stretch out her neck and roll back her shoulders.

Clunkily, she moves into the requested position, planting her elbows on the sofa and her face in her forearms. Garnet's lap is warm and soft -- she's rested on it many times before, when reading or watching a movie or sometimes just to nap on a Sunday afternoon, but never... not like this.

Embarrassment prickles at Pearl's ears, suddenly all too aware of every part of her body, the way the weight in her stomach rolls and shifts.

With a sharp inhale and her eyes squeezed shut, she braces herself for her punishment.

Garnet swallows multiple times, trying to get rid of the lump that's taken residence in her throat. She feels her whole mouth clenched, in an effort to keep that straight-lipped, seriousness. She's all too keenly aware of everything, how slowly Pearl moves, the way the cushions dip as she shifts her weight, the feel of her stomach and chest on her thighs.

Pearl wants this, she repeats to herself. Pearl asked for this. She wants to be what Pearl needs right now. She wants her mistakes to be acknowledged, to have a firm hand acknowledge her mistakes. Garnet wants to be a little kinder, that is her instinct.

It's those contradictions that make her bring her hand first, softly, between Pearl's shoulders. She doesn't caress or massage, simply touches. Makes Pearl aware of where her hand is. She moves it down her back slowly, so Pearl will know where it's going, when it's coming. She follows the slight dip at her waist, then the curve of her behind, and then her hand stops. Not cupping, not kneading, just acknowledging. "Your behavior recently is unacceptable, Pearl."

Garnet feels her chest heavy, her breaths coming a little quicker.

"You were late to school." She raises her hand and brings it back down with a smack. Not too hard, to start, keeping her hand against Pearl to alleviate the initial sting. "You spilled coffee on your boss." Then again. Once more.

Pearl's shoulders jump at the stroke of hand between them, and her breath catches -- it unsnags from her throat as soon as the lack of force to it registers, but her muscles remain just as tense. Whether Garnet's touch is meant to soothe or taunt, she has no way of telling, but all the same Pearl can't stop the shivers that run down her spine.

She is coming to realize, suddenly, that there is a very thin line between anticipation and dread.

The words make her flinch before the slap does, and when it finally comes, it's like a surge of electricity up her body -- Pearl lets out a sharp, clipped moan, digging her forehead into the sofa cushion. Then, again-- oh-- even through her jeans, she feels her skin prickle.

Garnet's touch is unhesitant and firm, like everything about her. Her voice is all authority, its usual husky edge seeming to thicken around the words in a way that makes Pearl's toes curl.

But Garnet is strong-- she's stronger than that. She can make this much more than a dull sting, she knows. But Pearl won't ask for it. This is her punishment; she shouldn't get to. If Garnet could see the full severity of her mistakes, then maybe--...

"I-it's unacceptable," Pearl echoes into the sofa, feeling her own breath buzz across the leather and her skin. "I'm a disgrace." Her hips shift, the curve of her spine twisting. "Shameful."

Oh. The next time Garnet hears Pearl's voice she hesitates for just a moment more, before her hand smacks Pearl again. Even muffled, Pearl's voice sounds different. The way her back curves over Garnet's lap is different, almost like Pearl is asking without asking. She's letting Garnet know what she wants.

"Absolutely shameful. You should know better by now," and without thinking, she feels her hand connect harder against Pearl, and even the feel of denim against it stings her palm. It buzzes against her fingertips, this new feeling, and she breathes in sharply. She doesn't wait too long for Pearl's reaction before raising her hand again.

"I expect more from you, Pearl." Her hand connects even harder, and this time her free hand takes hold of Pearl's shoulders to keep her from rocking forward too far.

"Ah!"

Pearl's whole body jolts, the impact rocking her forward on her knees. She trembles with the aftershock, lips parting around a shaky exhale. That. That was... exactly what she wanted. Her head sways, heavy, filled to the brim with the swirling heat of humiliation and guilt and-- and pleasure.

"You're right, I-- hnah--!" The next strike comes faster and harder than she expected, and her teeth clamp down on her lower lip through a moan. It takes her a second to recollect her words, after.

"I d-deserve to be punished."

"You really, really do." Her hand connects with Pearl again, and she can feel the throb in her own fingers from the force she's been using. She's expecting Pearl to beg her to stop at any moment, but instead Pearl's voice seems to beg her to continue. The way Pearl is responding, Garnet would like to as well.

"I'll have to think of a good punishment." Her hand still pressed harshly against Pearl, turns and follows the curve of her ass, and Garnet presses her fingers up between her thighs. She moves them against Pearl's jeans, feeling the heat and wetness from her center already. "I need to teach you a lesson."

The muscles in Pearl's thighs tighten when, rather than pull away again, Garnet's fingers begin trailing down. Her tongue feels heavy and wet in her mouth, and she swallows hard, sucking it dry. It helps for maybe five seconds.

Garnet's rubbing against her, the zip of her fly pressing in just so beneath her thumb -- and god help her, Pearl's wet already, the throb between her legs strong enough for her to wonder if Garnet can feel it. Because Pearl can feel it all throughout her body, in her abdomen and in her chest and her fingertips.

She can't believe what this is doing to her.

"Yes," she whimpers, squirming beneath Garnet's touch already -- her body can't help wanting more, even if she knows she doesn't deserve it. But then, it matters little; Garnet is the one to decide. She's hers to do with as she pleases.

The thought makes Pearl shiver.

"Yes, please."

She doesn't even know what it is she's asking for. But whatever Garnet has to give her, she wants.

"Good." Garnet continues to move her hand against Pearl, even as she feels her thighs tighten around it. She's always liked the way they do that, small and soft, yet powerful in their own way. Pearl's already responding to only this much, Garnet feels her throat tighten at the thought how she would respond to more.

Her hand at Pearl's shoulders moves down, and undoes the button of Pearl's jeans rather skillfully. She's had plenty of practice and she was always good at that. This allows her to pull them down, leaving them gathered around Pearl's hips. Then her hand moves up, rubbing over already pinkening skin.

"Lesson one." She doesn't wait for a response before bringing her hand down hard on Pearl again, this time the slap coming out much higher-pitched, as skin hits skin. She feels Pearl's skin react to the hit, and her fingers squeeze at the softness, pulling at, pressing against it as if she wants to shape it into something new. Then her hand moves a little down to push in between Pearl's thighs again, and everything she felt through her jeans is confirmed. Having Pearl's ear this close to her, Garnet leans forward as she moans at the warmth and wetness she finds there.

The cool air digs pinpricks into her raw, bared skin, and Pearl exhales in a shaky hiss. Her hips twitch, press together-- and oh, the inside of her thighs is a sticky damp mess. There's no doubt Garnet will be able to feel it, too, and anxiety flutters up to Pearl's throat like a caged bird.

Is this okay? Will Garnet allow it?

She doesn't have time to dwell on these worries for long, though, because soon Garnet's hand comes clapping down like thunder against her skin -- Pearl jerks forward again, her moan louder and higher this time. It hurts so much better, nothing to dull the sensation.

Before her body can settle, that hand moves once more, and Pearl's trepidation isn't nearly strong enough to keep her from bucking into it. Garnet's breath is warm in her ear, she's so close, she's sure she can hear and see and feel everything. Every hitch in her breath, every shiver down her spine, every roll of her hips--

Pearl bites the side of her wrist, and tries to keep herself together.

Pearl's reactions are encouraging. Everything about Pearl is wonderfully warm and responsive. She's already this far gone and Garnet has only slapped her a few times. She wonders just how pink her ass can get.

She plays against Pearl with her fingers, the way Pearl likes; which she has learned through intensive practice. She rubs big circles with two fingers, spiraling until the circles become smaller, more focused. Then she alternates and runs her fingers all along the length of her. Her own breath feels ragged against Pearl's cheek, and the hairs on Pearl's cheek brush and move with each one.

But then she pulls her hand away, to bring it back down with a hard slap against Pearl, and she watches as it ripples through her skin again, her wet fingers producing a very particular, slick sound. Then she rolls them under Pearl again, this time curling them to press ever so slightly into her entrance.

She smiles against Pearl. "You're enjoying this too much, aren't you?"

Pearl's teeth dig in deeper, needy whines muffled by her arm. Garnet works her all too easily, she can read her body like a map -- and this is bad, this is very bad for her, because she still doesn't know if she's allowed.

The alternation between pleasure and pain, it's tantalizing and it's torturous, the tension in her abdomen sharpening and coiling upwards like a metal wire. Garnet's building her up with a clockwork methodicality, effortlessly, and when she finally asks her that Pearl burns red with shame at her utter failure to conceal it. She's not allowed. She's not allowed...

She plucks her mouth away with a soft, wet pop, gasping as if she's resurfaced above water. "Y-yes," she answers, and her shoulders droop with a strained exhale. Guilty. "I'm sorry."

Garnet knows the true purpose of what they're doing tonight. It is, really, to give Pearl pleasure. And yet it's somehow entertaining to her, to mention it. She honestly does want Pearl to feel pleasure, but making her feel shame for it, in this moment, is somehow pleasurable as well. Garnet hadn't expected to like this as much as she is.

"Then it's not real punishment." She pulls her hand away, purposefully making the motion harsh and noticeable, as if pulling it away in disgust. As if that wasn't exactly what she wanted Pearl to say.

"Sit down on the floor," she instructs calmly, her hand, slick with Pearl, coming back to connect against her ass, but this time only hitting.

Pearl whimpers as Garnet's fingers thrust out of her, and god, they're wet when she hits her again. Her chest feels like it might burst. Her body aches for the contact, instantly mourning its loss -- yet at the same time she hungers for punishment, her nerves standing on edge in anticipation of what Garnet will do next.

"Yes," she answers, coming out surprisingly crisp for the way her voice wavers. Swallowing around the lump in her throat, Pearl rises to her feet, then tucks her knees beneath her to sit on the carpeted floor. (Her damp thighs press together in the process, sending a flicker of heat from abdomen to throat, released in a gasp.)

She looks up at Garnet with wide, eager eyes, and waits.

Garnet watches Pearl as she follows instructions. There's something about the way she moves, something about how her pants gather around her thighs and keep her from moving as gracefully as usual. And then Pearl's sitting on the floor looking expectantly up at her and Garnet almost forgets what she was planning.

She purses her lips slightly, and her eyes look Pearl up and down. Her voice is low, yet firm, stable as it usually is, though weighted. "Finish taking your pants off and open your legs."
