"Alright." Garnet prepares the tea with an adeptness that says she's done this a few times before. She can feel the arm that's holding Pearl up straining, but she knows the tea will be ready soon, and she can rest again.

She sets the tea down on the couch's side table before sitting, and arranging Pearl carefully on her lap, Pearl's legs draped over her thighs. It's always a bit of a trick, to find that balance between holding Pearl as close as she can, and wanting her to be as comfortable as possible at the same time. "You were very good, Pearl," she says softly, in her usual calm and cool tone, as she reaches for the tea, holding it up for Pearl. "I enjoyed it."
